Basic Car Care Tool – A Baseball Bat?
March 29th, 2008In the 1960s, the basic tool, apart from a wrench, a screwdriver, and a timing light, was a baseball bat. Sometimes when the battery seemed dead, you could tap on the posts and that 1966 Chevy 496 engine would fire; when the alternator belt loosened, a bat wedged between the engine and the alternator provided the right amount of tension to tighten the bolt.
